Amy was the first woman to ever serve as Majority Leader in the Minnesota Senate. She served in the Minnesota Senate from 2005 to 2013 and led the caucus into the majority in 2010 when she flipped 16 seats as the Elections Chair.  Amy has a deep background in clean energy and municipal affairs, as a member of the Senate Energy Committee and Senate Transportation. And, was the lead on the Senate Economic Development Committee for six years.  Since her tenure in the Senate, Amy has worked in political consulting.  Nationally, Amy has worked on banking and financial issues, international trade and green steel, veteran support for smart foreign policy and aid, sustainable agriculture and has testified before the National Transportation and Safety Board on rail safety.   She served as Chair of the Conservative Energy Forum and a member of the Minnesota Police Chiefs Foundation board.  She’s a former Russian linguist for the United States Air Force and the National Security Agency. Amy has an MBA and teaches at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. She specializes in media relations and crisis communications.
